College

It is only the first week of the fall semester. To fulfill my liberal arts requirement, I chose to take economics. After having spent the last four years learning theory, methods of solving systems and equations, graphical representations of systems… I suffered through a lecture on “what is slope?” Now, this is college and these classes do not have “mandatory attendance” under most circumstances. Yet, these classes tend to provide a wealth of entertainment. That is, until today.

The professor began to talk about “marginal cost” and was using an example of airline companies.
A student raises a hand and asks, “Do planes use the same fuel as cars?”

To again quote the genius of Lewis Black, “that's the kind of sentence that when you hear it, your brain comes to a screeching halt.
And the left-hand side of the brain looks at the right-hand side and goes, ‘It’s dark in here, and we may die.’”

Bonus points for a picture of Space Shuttle Endeavour filling-up at a Chevron gas station.
